1. Have semi-permanent lash extensions applied at least 4 weeks before your wedding by a certified professional. By having your extensions applied to your natural lashes a head of time, this allows for the bride to get used to wearing her extensions as well as correct any issues that may arise before the big day.
2. Schedule a facial two weeks prior to the wedding and not the day before the wedding. Estheticians may over manipulate the skin causing the skin to become irritated and/or toxins moving up to the outermost layer of the skin. This can cause the skin to look red on the day of the wedding.
3. Schedule more than 1 makeup trial. It’s always best to have several trials with different makeup artist to compare the look you want to achieve for your big day.
4. If wearing sew in extensions, be sure to have them applied at least a week before the wedding. Your natural hair will be braided, then the extension sewn on top of the braid. Hair stylist may braid hair too tight causing the extensions to feel tight. If you schedule your sew in extensions a week prior, this give the braids a chance to loosen up just a bit to not cause discomfort.
5. Do not drink coffee, sodas or eat bright colored foods when having teeth whitened for the wedding several days before and after the session.
6. It is best exfoliate your skin prior to having waxing services done.
7. Hire a bride’s assistant. On my wedding day, I had a beauty assistant who catered to my every beauty need. She carried a mini beauty bag which contained anything that I may have needed to freshen up with throughout the day. She also made sure my hair, gown and makeup were all in its place while we took pictures. Good thing, because it was a windy day and my hair blew all over the place. Between the photographers’ shots, she would come over and re-adjust my look. Hire a beauty assistant who is multi-talented – hair, makeup, wardrobe etc.
8. Pack one extra pair of hose, just in case you tear a hole in the first ones.
9. It’s often a good idea to have two pairs of shoes in case your feet get tired you can change your shoes.
10. When there are cameras around stay smiling! Brides usually don’t pay too much attention to photographers in the room. However, if you stay smiling while getting ready, you’re sure to enjoy the images!
